Fashion Accessories from the Stars to the High Street

In recent times, the ‘new man’ has been catching up with women when it comes to stylish accessorising. Of course, men have struggled throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s with accessories worth cringing at, but have eventually come through the other side to see men’s fashionistas include the most celebrated celebrities and sports stars of today.

Hair has to be considered the first of all male accessories and who better to prove this point than David Beckham, the stylish football phenomenon himself. With his metro-sexual appearance, he has proven a style icon with the ladies and men alike, which of course all started with his hair. At the peak of his soccer stardom, he would be noticed changing his hair style as often as his clothes; the younger generation who idolised David would attempt to copy his style from Mohawk to sleek and smooth.

Excusing some mistakes along the way, David Beckham is an established trendsetter with his own fashion label and is known most recently for his diamond accessories. In fact, David has proved that diamonds can also be a man’s best friend with stylish necklaces, earrings and rings.

In the summer, the must-have of accessories for men would include a top pair of sunglasses. Of course, American celebrities have the advantage of year round Californian sunshine and of these Hollywood stars; Jude Law top’s the charts in the sunglasses stakes. His success is down to accessorising the right outfit, for the right occasion with the perfect pair of shades. With casual wear, aviators are a must, whilst at night he often dresses to impress in an evening suit and wayfarer sunglasses.

What’s more, hats and scarves are great for during the winter months, but can also prove year-round accessory favourites. Popular musician Justin Timberlake is often seen making the most of hats, enhancing his casual look with knit caps and spicing up evening wear with a classy fedora. In addition, American actor and musician Jared Leto has more recently punked-up his wardrobe by accessorising with scarves to enhance his transition from film star to rock star.

With a couple of classic pieces in the wardrobe, what’s the next must-have fashion accessory? Will James Bond mania bring back the black suit and bow tie? In recent times, high street retailers seem to think so; proving a very popular choice amongst many fashionable male consumers. But with the fashion industry, regardless of how fickle it can be, you can sure of one thing and that is accessories will not be going out of fashion any time soon, with both male celebrities and consumers alike.
