Fun is the focus at Fall Bridal Show

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Fall Bridal Show will be held from 12:30-5 p.m. Sunday, August 17, at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. The show’s 120 vendor booths help brides-to-be plan their weddings from start to finish. The bridal show is a mixture of businesses from across the state; including photographers, DJs, caterers, travel agents and reception sites, among others. The average attendance is 1,500.

The focus of this year’s Fall Bridal Show is “fun” as new contests, prizes and entertainment have been added to the show. “We know planning a wedding can be stressful, so we want to create an environment that takes out the stress and really focuses on the couple to make it easier for them to plan their dream wedding,” said Tabitha Cunningham, events director at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. “We provide a space where brides can interact easily with vendors and ‘shop around’ for the right business for their wedding while also offering a laid-back, fun atmosphere to help put them get in the right mind-set for planning their wedding.”

Some of the featured events:

Nearly Newlywed Game – The finals to the Made to Marry contest. Those interested in participating can enter by August 4. The three-most-voted on couples get to participate in the Nearly Newlywed Game for a chance to win a $ 1,000 photography package from Photography by Angie Davis.

Best Dressed Groom – Easily one of our most popular contests where three brides-to-be get to “dress” their groom. Each groom will have a custom-designed gown made for them by their future wife – made of toilet paper. The groom must strut his stuff on the runway. The audience will decide the winner who will receive free tuxedo rentals for their wedding.

Prizes – Thousands of dollars worth of prizes are given out by vendors throughout the show. Drawings for prizes take place every hour. Every bride and groom who attend will automatically be entered to win the Ultimate Wedding Giveaway worth $ 3,500. The drawing will be held of the main stage at 5 p.m. (You must be present to win) The prize package includes videography, rentals, entertainment, invitations, limo service, wedding cake, bridal veil, photography, hotel stay and more.

Fashion Show – More than 50 looks for the entire wedding party from the hottest designers will be showcased on the runway at 4:30 p.m.

Brides-to-be will receive a free Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Bridal Planner. This is a complete guide to planning a wedding, including worksheets to help brides keep organized. The Bridal Planner includes beautiful photography, helpful editorials, checklists for brides and a listing of local businesses. In addition, they will also receive Real Weddings Magazine, also produced by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, that showcases the best local weddings of the past year.

Tickets are $ 10 at the door or can be bought online for $ 7 in advance at select locations. Special, and limited, VIB (Very Important Bride) tickets are available for $ 30, and give brides special goodies including T-shirts, bride/groom koozies and reserve seating to the fashion show and main stage events.
