6:14 MXDVS is an amazing brand that does stuff like that
I think Smiley faces are coming from a rise in popularity this year in "acid house" and the acid culture resurgence in general.
Just a breakdown of the trends from my perspective:
1. Kapital has been heavily using the happy face since the late 2000’s and early 2010’s. After archive kapital started gaining traction among more "niche" japanese fashion internet communities, other brands started hopping on the bandwagon.
2. Obviously Suicoke has been a thing for a while, but I think the thing that made sandles extremely accessible was its introduction in the Uniqlo U collections, which allowed pretty much everyone to have a nice-ish pair of "fashion" sandles. Also, stuff like Rick x Birckenstocks was a thing that pushed forward the trend.
3. No real opinion on "goth" accessories such as belts, chains, etc. One of the most overdone trends of 2018, though I do think that it looks good with other accessorizing.
4. Vetements should be mentioned in terms of starting the whole "firefighter" "construction worker" jacket trend, but honestly it looks dumb 90% of the time.
5. I think rebuild was more of a 2017 trend, with needles, kapital, etc hitting the mainstream and brands such as vetements heavily pushing out rebuilt clothing.
6. As someone who likes techwear, I still think that chest rigs have got to be one of the dumbest shits to become mainstream. Fuck alyx. But I ain’t mad about bondage becoming more popular since muh archive junya parachute, etc is all worth more now.
7. I’d argue that dad sneakers were more of a 2017 thing since that’s when shoes such as the triple s, gen modified instapumps, etc all came out. Biggest dad shoes of this year are probably the balenciaga track shoes and the kiko kostadinov asics (which I view as the dad shoe of the year, if not the shoe of the year)
Tyler also used it for Golf
1:39 it’s pronounced Shaq-the-bad-mon
not shaqadabadabom
Peep that sangiev necklace
*A CAR AND A PONTOON*
fashion news lol
Where tf is the cowboy brokeback mountain trend at?
Chest rig I feel is something that when worn as a trend is annoying but can be worn casually too
