SPILLING THE TEA ABOUT MYSELF | FASHION AND STYLE EDIT Q&A 2019

My first ever Q&A spilling the tea about myself on Fashion and Style Edit. My diet and what I eat in a day. My exercise routine and my background in Fashion, TV and buying endless copies of Vogue Magazine!! Most expensive Designer outfit I ever bought and how I ended up on YouTube!

I hope you like finding out a little bit more about me and my passion for the fashion industry from a really early age. I’d love to know a little bit more about you too? Did you always love fashion or is it something you’ve got more into over the years?

Loved this Jess., can’t believe you are 40 !!.. looks so good on you 😍 I also love 🏃‍♀️ and eating, which is why I run haha.. I hit the big 50 next year and it gets harder and harder to keep the weight down. Love your style and have spent a pretty penny due to your suggestions, as I’ve mentioned previously but I’m also very grateful too.. especially for the green velvet dress 😍😍😍xxx

Hi Jess, happy mothersday from Belgium! My thoughts were also with you and your family, thinking about you lost your mother recently. Hope you felt surrounded with lots of love and beautiful memories 💖

Really loved this personal story. I can feel that you find your place in the YouTube community by the way you talk about fashion.
If you would ever make a video about your healthy lifestyle i would be very interested. I try to eat low carb because it prevents me from a swollen belly, and also carbs make me feel very tired, it feels like my energy levels drop when i had carbs.
I was wondering if you could share easy low carb recipes you love? And how you manage that in your family life. Also, are there any supplements you would recommend? Because it seems like many people adjust supplements to an healthy diet. I wouldn’t know where to start… 🙈😅

Anyway, wish you all the luck in the world! ❤️

I’m 48 and a mum of two beautiful daughters.I love fashion and beauty and I love your videos as you have great style and you seem very genuine .I also love that you are of my generation it can be quite unrelateable watching you tubers who are in their 20s whose make up and fashion don’t necessarily work for us fabulous forties 😘

It’s appropriate on this Mother’s Day to give credit to my mother for my interest in fashion. However, the sharply tailored pieces that looked so good on her straight figure were a disaster on my curves, so I had to find my own style along the way. My grown daughters also enjoy clothes, and one is an excellent bargain shopper of high-end items, so I hope I have passed along the fun of self-expression through what one wears.

Thank you Jess!. It is interesting to get to hear how you came to be on YouTube. And lovely to get to know you. You are a natural and I am sure you will be successful in this venture as you are a good presenter, knowledgeable, down to earth, and passionate about what you do. I have always been interested in fashion ,homedecorating and the arts. Now that I am older , I am trying to find what works better for me as. I am in my early 50’s and my daughter is still quite young. I love your style of classic and boho. And the fact that most of the items that you mentioned are of good quality and not super expensive . Thank you for sharing and looking forward to seeing you on youtibe.

  15. Mary Mann on May 17, 2019 at 3:21 am

Enjoy your videos so much. I like your style because I think that while being on trend it is also classic and timeless. I am well beyond age 40, but I find that I am easily able to adapt your outfits to fit my age and body type. I live in South Carolina, USA in a very warm, humid climate. My challenge is to dress cool and comfortable without showing a lot of skin because of my age. So I appreciate your style and look forward to each new video.

  16. Miabenedetti on May 17, 2019 at 3:22 am

I can hear you talking all day long. You have an amazing talent for narration.💜 As for me my love for everything beautiful is innate I guess and that includes art, architecture, design and of course fashion. Love seeing, experiencing and listening to Beauty. 🙏🙂

  17. KKO on May 17, 2019 at 3:24 am

Your style is like your personality, very comfortable and polished at the same time. I live in the US and immediately went to Gap and purchased your favorites. My style started very young when my Mother wanted to dress me in pink and I demanded green instead; still do! Thanks for starting this lovely channel

  18. Lindsay Dent on May 17, 2019 at 3:26 am

Your vid was worth waiting for, you come over so well ..I’m still a bit hungover, and never drinking again xx

  19. Lola Kathol on May 17, 2019 at 3:27 am

I am a new subscriber to your channel. So glad I found you! I am 60. Many times I question myself, should I wear this? Is it to young for me? As my daughter would tell me… sometimes mom your trying to hard! Witch was true! After watching you, put together pieces ,how to wear them , l have learned to shop out of my closet. I have many nice pieces. I’ve learned from you, that “less” is more! You! Are such a natural at what you do. Now, sometimes without “thinking” I grab a simple shirt a pare of jeans a necklace and a belt. I’m done! 🙏 thank you!

  21. Christine Coates on May 17, 2019 at 3:30 am

That was lovely Jess. I grew up in the Ribble Valley but moved to Milan when I was 19 and have lived in Italy ever since. I now live in a seaside resort on the Adriatic coast. I used to draw outfits when I was about 5 or 6, mostly evening and occasion wear and was really into fashion as a teenager but during my 20s and 30s lost interest as my career and life took over. I’ve now got back into it again and adore trawling the shops for a bargain or vintage things. I love your videos and find them so inspiring.😘

  22. Ελένη Ζιώγα on May 17, 2019 at 3:30 am

You are adorable. You had inspired me so many times with your cloth choices.I also bought the Dior lipstick 999 that l loved on you. Thanks and keep going.

  25. Kimberlee Larsen on May 17, 2019 at 3:32 am

I just want to say thank you! I absolutely love watching your videos and your style choices are my favorite! I live in LA the (ugh) crop top capital of the world! I love that you would wear trainers with a dress… I feel like you don’t see that so much here, it seems to me, people in LA think they need to look sexy all the time with 3 to 4 inch heels, tight dresses etc…. I love that you look chic and elegant but at the same time edgy with a confidence that says…I know myself and my style is my own. I have bought a couple of things you have featured but one of my biggest takeaways was with accessories…. I have never worn a huge amount of accessories, but I am choosing to wear one piece when I get dressed and you are so right, it does look much more modern and sophisticated. 💜

  26. Jennifer Lee on May 17, 2019 at 3:35 am

I just turned 40 in March; and I’ve only just gotten into fashion, makeup, and skincare full on. I spent most of my life feeling very self-conscious, but now, I’m really getting to like myself a lot. I have more confidence now than I have almost ever had. Thank you for sharing your love of fashion with us.

  27. Boojama Jan on May 17, 2019 at 3:35 am

How lovely to find out a little about you. I had you mentally categorized as a model, now I see that you may have been or still are a model, but you are also a real woman like the rest of us. Thank you for sharing part of yourself. My interest in fashion came later in life. I always enjoyed nice clothes but never had confidence in putting outfits together until I found Youtube. You and others like you are teaching me a lot and I am enjoying experimenting a bit more with fashion.

Hi I really enjoy watching you create an outfit and the more affordable alternatives us . I’m in my 50s would you suggest casual and casual smart outfits for small busty ladies who maybe like me not over weight but having issues such as bigger boobs and bottoms
Thank you both and I hope you get lots of subscribers.

  32. katandfleur on May 17, 2019 at 3:41 am

It is always such a pleasure to watch you Jess 👋🏻I have come across your channel at the time you reviewed Trinny’s make up as I am also a huge fan from day one! was following Trinny’s YT channel for a very long time. I still remember the beginnings.. Long story short I also love fashion which brought me to Trinny and eventually to your channel and I enjoy it immensely 💕I am 44 having 3 girls for a change (speaking of balance in nature😉) , two in their teens n one 21! We have similar style and yes I got mu eyes on few bits and pieces thanks to your recommendation and yes I got plenty of compliments wearing them (than linen khaki shirt from H&M🤩) so massive thank you! Katx

  33. Shoshannah Lee on May 17, 2019 at 3:42 am

This is my favourite channel, your style has inspired me to allow my girlie side to shine through a bit more as being a mom of 3 myself, I sometimes forget about doing what I enjoy and being who I am apart from being ‘mom’s. Thanks Jessica ❤

  34. Carole Buckle on May 17, 2019 at 3:42 am

Really enjoyable leaning about you, my fashion like you started by my modern dressed mum, so since a young age & more so since you tube hauls & fashion advisors have come about and not aged 20 yrs old 😂 x

  35. Helen Mudge on May 17, 2019 at 3:43 am

Hi Jess! I’ve been obsessed by clothes for longer than I remember, my mum told me I got a bit of red paint on my little white sock when I was at nursery, and I made such a fuss that the teacher had to wash the sock for me! I’m well known for always having a fashion magazine on the go, and I love interiors styling too. I’m in the UK, 49 and I’m married with two grown up children. My son still lives at home, so I live with two messy men! I work part time for Karen Millen. My question would be how did you two meet and become friends?

  36. Lorraine Cowie on May 17, 2019 at 3:45 am

Hi lovely lady you helped me no end with my style and have inspired me and go on inspiring me every day; thank you so much I love your channel don’t ever stop 👠👗🙏💖💗🌹💕😉😍

  37. La Rayne on May 17, 2019 at 3:45 am

What I love most about you is that you‘re so authentic.
I‘m a bit late to the party but I‘ll still give my two cents: My interest in fashion actually started at the tender age of six when stumbling across an old box of my mother‘s 70ies hippie clothes packed away in the attic. Flares, flower print blouses and skirts (bright green paired with pink!), wide, studded cowboy belts and an afro wig! I was in heaven. 😍

At 17, I went to Australia as an exchange student and fell in love with an Aussie farm boy and sheep shearer (think ‚Thorn Birds‘) – my fashion interest thus shifted towards men‘s fashion (how do you get a REALLY hunky guy to stop wearing the most unflattering outfits possible..?). 30 years and two kids later, I still haven‘t succeeded. 😬😂

At 19, I lived in Paris as a nanny for a year and loved browsing through all those beautiful independent Boutiques (though I could never afford to buy anything).

And with my pop music project, I had to try and define who I was (or wanted to be) fashion-wise. The style has stuck with me – a boyish gamine-style, often men‘s shirts, relaxed chinos or skinny jeans paired with high-heeled ankle boots (even though i‘m 5‘ 11“). Neutral tones.

There you go. Hugs to you and Charlotte!😘

This was such a nice video getting to know you!! I am older than you and have loved fashion forever! I live in the US and the college I attended is called Fashion Institute of Technology. I received a two year degree in Fashion Buying & went to work in the garment industry as a Assistant Buyer. And the love of fashion has stayed with me my whole life!! I think you are wonderful in front of the camera & have the best taste!!! I wish you lots of good luck with your channel!!

I’ve always loved fashion. I know some people think it’s dumb and superficial but I feel it’s a quick way to express myself in the only way I can while juggling a crazy busy life. Xoxo.

    Enjoyed!
I was an runway model in the late seventies and eighties in Toronto and had a wonderful time with it! Like you said you have to take the whole modeling world with a grain of salt and keep an level head on your shoulders. I graduated from university not only debt free but with savings from my modeling career. I then went into my career in psychology for twenty five years and now enjoying retirement with my husband and our Aussie doodle.😊🍁

  48. Ride 2018 on May 17, 2019 at 3:58 am

You are lovely and have great style. I am close to forty as well and I don’t like the high street stores (I dislike that everything seams to be made of polyester/plastic/oil) so when possible please offer examples of clothes made of sustainable materials as well even if they are a bit more expensive. Thank you so much, I love your channel.

  49. Nydia Blossoms on May 17, 2019 at 4:00 am

Thank you so much for this Q&A. I am in my late 30s and it is rare to find an influencer with your style in this age group. I love your honesty in your story, that’s the mark of a well-rounded person… I fell in love with fashion when I put on a pair of jeans with ankle boots and a white blouse… I was 14 years old. I knew then that the simplest outfit, done right, can make a big impact.

  50. runspud on May 17, 2019 at 4:01 am

This was fun,,,and thanks for talking about my question 👍 A little about us? Well, I’ve been into fashion honestly, since my earliest memories. Growing up, when budget didn’t offer much,,,I still found a way to put together outfits I liked. It mattered to me. Still does 😊
